On the night the USS Carl D. Bradley went down with 33 men aboard, the US Coast Guard Cutter Sundew jumped into action. In less-than-ideal conditions, the crew on this vessel was responsible for rescuing the only two survivors, and for the search and rescue operations that continued on into the following day.
The Sundew is headed to Rogers City on Wednesday, August 5, and we’ll be holding a proclamation service at the Lakeside Park Gazebo and Pavillion at 120 N. Lake Street. The exact time will be announced when the Sundew’s arrival time is determined.
We will keep you up to date as more details are known. But please mark your calendar for August 5, we look forward to seeing you there.
