It Happened in Presque Isle County

Some of Northeast Michigan’s most harrowing historical events happened right here in Presque Isle County.  A sunken ship devastated a small port town. A wildfire tore through the county, one of the most destructive in the state’s history. A prominent city leader was murdered…and no one really minded all that much.
